The first photographs I ever sold were to a zoo when I was 12. That was in 1962. Three of the four have survived.
London is my birthplace. Italy is my home. There have been other countries between then and now: Cameroon, Poland, Germany. I have worked at the Universities of Hamburg, Warsaw and Poznan, and in the UK at Canon, Philips, and Scicon. I studied linguistics at the Universities of York and Sussex after art school and film school. I speak a few languages.
I like to change what I do from time to time. Apart from being a photographer, I have been a linguistics lecturer, language teacher, research scientist, software writer, translator, song lyricist, director of a software research laboratory, human resources consultant, business consultant, graphic designer, website designer, video-maker and a few other things.
